The Avenue Private Day Nursery

We are a privately run day nursery with 5 rooms aged from 6 weeks old – 4 years old. We are open all year apart from 1 week over Christmas, we also have term-time only places – government funding, before and after school club and holiday club, which caters for up to 11 years.

All our staff are level 3, 4, 5 and 2 members of staff are training to gain their level 6. The manager has a level 4 in management.

All meals are freshly cooked on the premises and your child will also receive 2 snacks during the day. Fresh drinking water is available at all times with the children in babies and toddlers having their own water bottle/cup and the older children have access to a water machine.

We have 2 outdoor play areas. One is situated at the back of the nursery that is cushioned flooring throughout. This is mainly used for the babies and toddlers. We also have an area at the side of the before and after school building which consists of soft cushioned flooring and a tarmac area with built in balancing beams and swinging bars. The children have access to many activities and areas to investigate and explore, such as a bug hotel, digging area, muddy kitchen.

In all rooms we have introduced programmes such as Toddler Talk and story talk. These are programmes that help to promote communication and language and listening and attention. More information is provided on having a look around the nursery.

In our pre-school room the children are able to attend swimming lessons at an additional price and we take part in the firm foundation scheme. We also have a yearly trip during the summer for the pre-school children. The children also get the chance to take part in a scheme called LETS GET BRUSHING. This introduces good dental health in nursery as well as at home. We provide your child with a toothbrush, toothpaste and a holder. This is carried out daily and it is a fun activity to get the children involved.

We offer a before and after school service that collects and drops off from Leigh C.E and St Marys, Leigh Central and Sacred Heart primary schools. We also offer holiday care for all the holidays. All children welcome from 4-11 years are welcome even if they attend different schools.
