Rafiki and Kamosi

The Rafiki/Motswako project was originally set up in 2001 by Wigan MBC’s Youth Service to provide a safe separate space for young refugees and asylum seekers. It has represented important provision in a borough that has relatively less experience of resident culturally diverse communities compared to other Greater Manchester boroughs. It has since developed its provision to include all black young people and most recently new European migrant communities..
