Preparing for Adulthood - The Event

A FREE information event in Wigan offering support and advice for people with a disability/autism.

This year we will be hosting a five day virtual event, starting 8th November. Each day has a different theme, where you will be able to listen to professionals with expertise in that area and parent/carers and young adults with recent experience.

Each day we will host two live events. One at lunch aimed directly at young people and one in the evening aimed at parent/carers. Each event will have live speakers and the opportunity for question and answers.

The event:

8th November: My Development Information about further education, employment and supported internships.

9th November: My Health and Happiness. All about health services, healthy living and the Be Well team.

10th November: My Independence.  The chance to learn more about independent living and life skills.

11th November: Informing Me.  What information, advice and guidance services are available for disabled adults. We have speakers from The Carers Centre, The Local offer and more.

12th November: My Support Colleagues from social care will be talking through the different social care options people have once they leave education.

All of the week’s videos will be uploaded to a website so that you can watch again as and when you need. We will have venues available for people who do not have internet access to watch the event.
