Setting has remained open during lock down to provide childcare for the children of key workers. With a revised policy in place, following government guidelines setting will be open for the wider childcare requirements from 1st August 2020.
My service provides a sound home from home environment where children can learn and develop through play. Linked to EYFS. I am qualified to NVQ 3 Level in Childcare, Learning and Development and have been childminding since January 1996. I have 2 grown up children and grandchildren.
I offer a wide range of stimulating and challenging activities and cater for children from 2 months to 11 years. I provide an outdoor space for play and regularly take the children out and about - library, parks, feeding the ducks etc. We have quiet time and story time and lots more. I involve the children in adult led activities (art and craft etc) and encourage learning and development skills through free play. This helps children to become independent and develops their ability to think for themselves.
Covid regulations still apply. Children must wash hands immediately after removing shoes and coats whenever they enter the setting. Each child has their own towel for this purpose. Different colours for easy recognition. Hand sanitiser is used when out and about and social distancing when appropriate. Any child with symptoms of covid will be expected to stay away as government guidelines state. Cleaning is carried out regularly throughout the day e.g. toilet, sink area etc. Also, all surfaces cleaned after each use. Toys sanitised as appropriate and always at the end of each working day. Although covid restrictions have been relaxed by the government, the virus is still a presence and as such my covid policy remains in place for the foreseeable future.
