Little Acorns Day Nursery - Out of School Care

Out of School care in Wigan provided by Little Acorns Day Nursery.

Breakfast club:

Parents drop off the children from 7:30am. The children are offered a selection of cereals, milk and water before walking over to the local schools with dedicated out-of-school staff.

After-school club:

Nursery staff collect the children from the local schools at 3:15pm. They are given a snack, fresh fruit and a drink and play until they are collected by 6:00pm.

In our two base rooms our after-school children will have access to a range of age appropriate toys and activities which help to promote positive experiences in all aspects of play. We have a well planned and varied daily routine in our safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment.

Holiday Care:

Little Acorns Nursery provides holiday care for primary school children between the ages of 5 and 11. Available for only 13 weeks from 07:30am until 6:00pm. We are open for most school inset but on occasion, this is not feasible. Please check with staff.

The children participate in a wide range of arts, crafts and other activities such as competitions. We involve the children in the planning of the activities and parents are invited to propose activities for the 7 week summer holiday.

Holiday club children bring their own packed lunch to the nursery and are given fresh fruit, snacks and juice during the day.

Parents are welcome to make arrangements with the nursery management team to bring along their child to visit the nursery before their first day. By easing them in this way, the children get to meet their Buddy Partner who will make them feel welcome, explain what goes on in the nursery and introduce them to the other children.
