Our Aims, Objectives and Guarantees To You:
Aims of the Nursery
To provide a friendly, family-oriented, nurturing and supportive environment in which all pupils are known as individuals and are equally valued and supported regardless of race, religion, gender or disability. Standish under 5's aims to provide a positive and friendly introduction to learning for children ages 9 months-4 years. We prepare the rooms every day with different materials and equipment to provide the children with a wide range of play and creative activities. Children have free access to explore a variety of resources in a child-centred way. In this way we encourage them to take a few steps towards independence in a safe and caring environment. Part of this safe and caring environment is based on adherence to a set of policies and guidelines which we detail below. They are subject to review in line with changes in the law, regulations and general best practices. They aim to provide parents with a clear understanding of our operations, and carers with a structured operating framework.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to you, your child and your family to Standish under 5’s Nursery. To ensure your continued peace of mind whilst your child is in our care we wish to make the following guarantees:
- We guarantee a safe and secure environment for everyone.
- We guarantee to be homely and welcoming.
- We guarantee to intellectually stimulate, nurture and challenge your children.
- We guarantee to provide a service that is reliable and flexible and understanding of the needs of you and your children.
- We guarantee that your child at the end of the day will be happy, satisfied and fulfilled.
You are welcome to visit us at anytime. We go out of our way to create a happy place and make sure the nursery is a friendly and lively learning environment. A child who is tense or unhappy will not be able to play and learn properly, so it is important for parents and nursery staff to work together to help the children feel confident and secure in the group. Sometimes it can take longer for children to settle.
Activities and experiences for the children are planned within the areas of learning as specified in the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The seven areas of learning are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Communication and Language
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Meeting individual needs of all children lies at the heart of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. We deliver personalised learning, development and care, to help all children to get the best possible start in life.
All children are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities to extend and build upon their existing skills, interests and knowledge through themes that are meaningful and interesting to the children. It is also important that the children have fun, enjoy coming to nursery and gain a thirst for learning.
