Appy Little Plums Ltd Day Nursery is a family run business managed by owner Vicky Halliwell. It opened in January 2015 and operates 4 rooms with associated facilities from a converted community centre in the heart of Westleigh, Lancashire. Children are cared for all on one floor which is open and visible to all staff members. Open from 07:00am to 6:00pm weekdays, closing for bank holidays and one week at Christmas.  

The nursery is registered on the Early Years Register. A maximum of 52 children can attend the nursery at any one time. There are currently 94 children under five years on roll, some in part-time places. The nursery is in receipt of funding for the provision of free early education to children aged two to four years.  

Children come from a wide catchment area, as most of their parents travel to work outside of the local area. The nursery employs 19 staff who live locally. 15 of these hold appropriate early years qualifications at level 2/3. We currently employ 2 members of staff who are level 4 qualified and 1 with Qualified Teacher Status.

Appy Little Plums Ltd has an extensive garden/play area to the side and rear which gives our children the chance to develop, take measurable risks, be imaginative and learn through their play. This is an invitation to play with lots of magical open ended opportunities.

We have recently been awarded Millies Mark, this is an accreditation to prove that the setting go above and beyond these minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid.
