All 3 and 4-year-olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of free early education or childcare a year. This is taken as 15 hours each week for 38 weeks of the year. St Jude's nursery operates from 9am - noon during term time. Once your child turns 3 he/she will be eligible to a free nursery place to start the following term. Please see the table below. Child birthday When you can claim 1 January to 31 March the beginning of term on or after 1 April to 31 August the beginning of term on or after 1 September to 31 December the beginning of term on or after 1 January Example: Your child was born on 15 February 2013. They will become eligible for free early education and childcare from the start of term following 1 April 2016. To avoid disappointment please apply for a nursery place in advance. To apply you must complete and return nursery application form and provide evidence of your child's date of birth, in the form of a birth certificate, and your address (a recent bill, bank statement, official letter etc). Our Nursery operates an Admission Criteria Process in the event of places being oversubscribed.
