Angela Coats - Young at Heart Childminding

Ofsted Registered Childminder based in Abram catering for children age 0-5 years.

Young at Heart Childminding was first established in Wigan in 2014, as an Ofsted registered childminder. My name is Angela Coats, I have over 29 years' experience of working in childcare. I am level 4 qualified in childcare and early years. I have up-to-date mandatory training in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid and Level 2 Food Safety amongst other relevant qualifications. I live in a 3 storey, 2 bedroomed house in Abram, Wigan, with my 23 year old son James and our 2 pet cats Joshi and Luli.

I offer a warm, friendly, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, nurtured and happy. I provide a variety of both self-chosen and adult-led fun, stimulating learning experiences through various toys, equipment and activities. These include both indoor and outdoor activities which promote all seven areas of children's developmental needs in line with the recommended Early YearsFoundation Stage framework (EYFS).

I work very closely with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure that all children are receiving the best possible care, taking into consideration parents’ wishes and children's individual needs.

The whole of the ground floor and first floor of my home is used for childminding which comprises of a designated play room, kitchen/utility room, toilet room, enclosed back garden, integrated garage and understairs store cupboard on the ground floor, and a living room and family kitchen on the first floor.

I registered to look after a maximum of 6 children under 8 years old, however I only take on 0-5 year olds, I do not cater for any school age children. 

My daily fee is £38 per day from 08:00am - 5:30pm. Fees include breakfast, 2 snacks, drinks and baby wipes. (Packed lunch/formula milk/baby food/nappies and creams to be provided from home).

I take children on regular outings around the local areas, including parks, shops, soft play centres, nature walks by the canal, woodland and local pond.
