Small, 'home from home' nursery

Here at Ambrose Day Nursery, we do things differently. We know and understand that children learn best when they feel safe and secure. By offering a home from home environment whilst being a small day care nursery, we can provide just that; our staff, children and their families are all part of our extended family.

We expect a lot from our staff, they’re all qualified plus have many years of experience working with children and delivering the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). All staff hold a paediatric first aid certificate, have safeguarding training and we support our staff development through other suitable training courses.

Our activities are planned with the children being at the heart of all we do. We nurture their curiosity and develop important communication and life skills that will set them up for a successful future. From trips out in the local community, to fun times outside playing in puddles, children at Ambrose Day Nursery are always happy and enjoying themselves. We keep you up to date with your child’s progress via class dojo app or home diaries, we love to share children’s successes and learning journeys and also to give ideas on how you can support them at home too. 

Children are all in one room together, but at the same time have their own space to play with age appropriate toys. Being in the one room means that the children get to socialise with others that are not their age, so when they do move up to the next area, there is little fear, as they already know what to expect. Our set up also means that all of our staff get to know our children, not just the child’s keyperson. This means we know when they are not happy or can be a familiar face for when they need it.

All our food uses the freshest ingredients and is prepared daily, on-site. We can cater for all allergies and other special dietary requirements. We do not charge extra for meals.

We provide childcare for children from 0-5 years, all year round. We also offer 15 hours of funded childcare to some 2, and all 3- and 4-year olds plus 30 hours to eligible 3 and 4 year olds. We accept a variety of payment methods including childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare.
